Abstract
To investigate the characteristics of soil infiltration failure in Luoshenwei embankment,considering the actual engineering soil samples,a self-developed soil infiltration simulation test device was used to design and carry out the infiltration failure effects of soil samples with different gradation and size characteristics.Research showed that the quantity of particle loss in soil samples exhibited a logarithmic relationship with hydraulic gradients,and infiltration failure directly resulted to a sudden increase in particle loss.Compared to size effects,particle size distribution played a decisive role in soil sample infiltration failure.As the hydraulic gradient increases,the porosity decreased,but the porosity gradually stabilized under high hydraulic gradients;The pore ratio of the sample with permeability failure exhibited an increasing phenomenon,which served as a precursor to engineering piping failure warning.The time series effect of permeability coefficient had the exponential function characteristics,and the hydraulic gradient reduced the influence of size effect on the permeability coefficient of soil samples.The infiltration failure of soil samples did not occur suddenly in a short period of time,but was a gradual evolution process,starting from the end,transitioning to the middle,gathering at the bottom of the soil sample,until infiltration instability failure occurs.This could provide a practical basis for engineering early warning.The paper can provide reference for the investigating the characteristics of soil infiltration and erosion damage as well as the mechanism of engineering piping.关键词
