A Survey on Status of School Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Cognition and Environmental Support in Putuo District,Shanghai

Abstract
Objective To understand the supporting environment for tuberculosis prevention and control in schools in Putuo District,and to provide the basis for formulating health promotion strategies for tuberculosis prevention and control in schools.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted on 238 parents,58 teachers,and 186 students from middle schools,high schools,and vocational schools in Putuo District.Results In terms of tuberculosis prevention and control knowledge,teachers had the highest awareness rate(77.2%),followed by parents(75.4%),and students had the lowest awareness rate(61.1%);the awareness rate of vocational school students(50.00%)was much lower than that of junior high school students(72.72%)and high school students(61.67%).Parents and teachers had a high degree of support for school health education courses and tuberculosis epidemic management,and teachers had more support than parents.New media,such as the Internet,played an important role in parents and teachers'access to tuberculosis prevention and control knowledge.Students'preference for obtaining knowledge came from doctors(66.1%)and health teachers(65.6%).Conclusion Parents and teachers in Putuo District have a positive attitude towards tuberculosis prevention and control in schools,but the awareness rate of tuberculosis related knowledge in schools is low,especially among students in vocational schools.It is necessary to further explore the school health education model under the new situation in order to improve students,teachers and parents'awareness of tuberculosis prevention and control.关键词
