Abstract
Objective To understand the knowledge,attitudes,behaviors,and training needs of head teachers in schools and childcare facilities in Jiading District,Shanghai,regarding infectious disease prevention and control,and to provide a basis for formulating infectious disease training plans and targeted prevention strategies.Methods A self-designed questionnaire was used,and a multi-stage cluster random sampling method was employed to survey 887 head teachers from 40 childcare facilities and primary/secondary schools in Jiading District,Shanghai,on their knowledge,attitudes,and practices regarding infectious disease prevention and control.Results The overall awareness rate of infectious disease-related knowledge among head teachers was 92.45%,with primary school teachers having a higher awareness rate than those in childcare facilities and middle/high schools.The awareness rate of infectious disease clusters was 89.81%,with childcare facility teachers having a higher awareness rate than primary and middle/high schools.Knowledge of vaccine prevention for hand-foot-mouth disease and norovirus infection was relatively low,at 61.33%and 75.08%,respectively.98.53%of head teachers were willing to learn about infectious disease prevention and control.Regarding attitudes,94.02%of head teachers agreed that"early detection,early reporting,and early isolation"are important measures for infectious disease control,while 8.46%remained skeptical about the effectiveness of class suspension.In terms of practices,all head teachers conducted regular classroom ventilation and disinfection,but 2.20%were unable to operate a vomiting emergency kit.Conclusion There are differences in the knowledge and ability to handle infectious disease clusters among head teachers in different types of schools and childcare facilities in Jiading District,Shanghai.The awareness rate of vaccine prevention for hand-foot-mouth disease and norovirus infection is relatively low.Targeted training and drills should be conducted for different types of schools and childcare facilities to improve head teachers'knowledge of infectious disease prevention and control,as well as their ability to identify and handle infectious disease clusters.关键词
