Abstract
Objective To understand the current status of myopia among primary and middle school students in Zhangye and its influencing factors,and to provide theoretical basis for myopia prevention and control among students in Zhangye.Methods In 2023,a stratified cluster random sampling method was used to conduct vision tests and questionnaires among primary and middle school students.Chi-square test and logistic regression model were used to analyze the influencing factors of myopia.Results The overall myopia rate about primary and middle school students in Zhangye City in 2023 was 73.56%.Among different educational stages,the myopia rate increased with the increase of educational stage.The myopia rate of girls was higher than that of boys,and the myopia rate of suburban counties was higher than that of urban areas.Logistic regression analysis showed that gender,educational stage,county/urban area,frequency of eye exercises,location of break-time activities,lighting conditions during nighttime screen use,computer usage distance,and parental myopia status were influencing factors of myopia,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The myopia rate among primary and middle school students in Zhangye was relatively high and exhibited a marked increase with advancing school age.Girls,middle school students,and those residing in suburban counties are identified as key targets for prevention and control efforts.Myopia among primary and middle school students was influenced by a variety of controllable factors,necessitating enhanced surveillance and intervention strategies for these risk factors.关键词
