Abstract
Objective To understand the role and effectiveness of social organizations in HIV/AIDS prevention and control, and to provide references for government procurement of social organization services and grassroots HIV/AIDS prevention strategies. Methods Two local social organizations registered with the civil affairs department in Fuyang District were investigated.A self-designed questionnaire and interview outline were used.Data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0,with descriptive statistics,t-tests,and χ2 tests for group comparisons(α=0.05).Results The two social organizations played important roles in high-risk population monitoring, health education,HIV testing, and patient care. They achieved significant results in HIV testing positivity rate and timely referral for treatment, with 4 295 HIV tests conducted and a positivity rate of 0.21%.The main sources of funding for social organizations were project funds(including government-purchased services)and corporate donations, with government-purchased services accounting for 41.88%.Their innovative"one-stop"service model integrated consultation, testing, treatment, and follow-up care, effectively improving treatment timeliness and adherence. Conclusion Social organizations had an irreplaceable role in HIV/AIDS prevention and control. They can provide flexible, targeted, and humanized services to complement the shortcomings of government departments. However, social organizations still faced challenges such as high staff turnover, unstable funding, and uneven service quality.Continuous support from the government and private sectors was crucial for ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of social organizations in HIV/AIDS prevention and control.关键词
