Analysis on Status of Fasting Blood Glucose Abnormalities in Elderly Residents of a Community in Shanghai from 2018 to 2023

Abstract
Objective To analyze the abnormal fasting blood glucose levels of elderly residents undergoing physical examinations in a community in Shanghai from 2018 to 2023,and provide the clinical evidence for the management of chronic disease health in the community.Methods The fasting plasma glucose data of the elderly residents who participated in the physical examination in a community health service center in Shanghai from 2018 to 2023 were collected,and the abnormal fasting plasma glucose rates in different years,genders and ages were retrospectively analyzed.Results From 2018 to 2023,the abnormal fasting plasma glucose rate of the elderly in a community in Shanghai ranged from 28.16 to 36.02%.The abnormal fasting plasma glucose rate of males ranged from 32.65%to 40.36%,and that of females ranged from 24.30%to 32.35%,which was significantly higher in males than in females(P<0.05).Conclusion The prevalence of abnormal fasting plasma glucose levels among elderly residents in a community in Shanghai is considerably high,with a significantly higher occurrence observed in men compared to women.When implementing community health management,it is crucial for general practitioners to prioritize early screening for diabetes and effectively manage and intervene with high-risk groups.关键词
