Clinical observation of acupoint application in patients in their stable phase of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint application in patients in their stable phase of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and the expression of associated inflammatory mediators.Methods A total of 60 patients in their stable phase of COPD treated in the hospital from March 2023 to February 2024 were randomly divided into a treatment group(n=30)and a control group(n=30).The two groups were given the original baseline treatment,while the treatment group additionally received acupoint application of traditional Chinese medicine.The TCM symptom scores,treatment effect,and expression levels of IL-17,IL-10,Th17,Treg,Th17/Treg,and NLRP3 were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Results After treatment,the TCM symptom scores of the treatment group were lower than before treatment(P<0.05),and the scores of CAT,mMRC,and SGRQ were all lower than before treatment as well(P<0.05),while the levels of FEV1 and FEV1/FVC%were both improved compared to before treatment(P<0.05).After treatment,there was no significant improvement in the indicators of IL-17,IL-10,Th17,Treg,Th17/Treg,and NLRP3 in the control group compared to before treatment,while the levels of IL-17,Th17/Treg,and NLRP3 were decreased in the treatment group(P<0.05),while the levels of IL-10 and Treg were increased(P<0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of patients in their stable phrase of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,the acupoint application therapy can improve their clinical symptoms,quality of life,and lung ventilation function,which may be related to the balance between Th17/Treg and IL-17/IL-10 regulated by NLRP3.关键词
