Abstract
In order to study the impact of ballast shortage on lateral resistance of the track bed shoulder,the situation of ballast shortage was classified and summarized through on-site investigation.The residual ballast shoulder volume was used to quantitatively describe the degree of ballast shortage,and the discrete element software PFC was used to simulate and analyze the relationship between different residual volumes and lateral resistance of the track bed.The on-site test and simulation results show that when the amount of missing ballast is similar,the val-ue of transverse resistance of the track bed is also similar;The lateral resistance of the track bed changes with the decrease of remaining vol-ume,manifested in three stages:rapid decrease in the initial stage,slow decrease in the middle stage,and finally rapid decrease again.The reduction of ballast shoulder height has a more significant impact on lateral resistance than the reduction of ballast shoulder width.关键词
