Abstract

To study the shear performance and failure mechanism of the bonding interface between engineered cementitious composites(ECC)and coal gangue concrete,10 Z-shaped shear specimens were designed for the direct shear test,including different keyway sizes(keyway depth,keyway angle,keyway number),male and female key teeth materials(ECC,coal gangue)and shear reinforcement ratio of ECC(0,0.34%,1.34%).With the aid of DIC and acoustic emission instruments,the interface failure mode,load-displacement curve,and acoustic emission characteristic parameters were analyzed.The experimental results indicate that the failure modes of specimens with keyways are divided into three categories:shear failure of key teeth,shear failure of keyways,and combined shear failure of both key teeth and keyways.Increasing the shear reinforcement ratio can significantly improve the shear capacity and peak displacement of the bonding interface.Among the keyway parameters,the primary and secondary relations of the influence degree of shear bearing capacity are the number of keyways,the depth of keyways,and the angle of keyways.Through DIC,it is found that the strain is concentrated near the shear interface during the shear process.Through acoustic emission monitoring,it is found that the ringing count and energy release rate in the elastic stage are mainly distributed in the range of 0~200 and 0~130 mV·μs,respectively.At the stage of fracture development,the ringing count in the range of 200~1000 and the energy release rate in the range of 130~1500 mV·μs began to appear.In the analysis of microcrack evolution,the high-frequency signal with the average frequency in the range of 200~350 kHz is used as the early warning information of specimen failure.Based on the test data,the calculation method for the shear capacity of ECC-coal gangue concrete bonding surface was proposed.The calculated values are in good agreement with the experimental values.
