Comparative Trial of Finger-Type Pod Pepper Varieties

Abstract
Chili pepper is a traditional and economically dominant crop in Zunyi.To identify superior varieties suitable for local cultivation,a comprehensive comparison was conducted on seven newly introduced finger-type chili pepper varieties.Key agronomic traits,including growth period,economic characteristics,disease/stress resistance,and yield,were analyzed.The results showed that the growth period of all tested varieties ranged between 186-192 days.All varieties demonstrated strong field resistance to both diseases and environmental stresses,along with excellent visual fruit quality.Four varieties,including Zunjiao 111,Xiangla 762,Yanjiao 808,and Yuanhang 808,exhibited significantly higher yields than the control variety Jiaoyang No.1(CK),with yield increases of 10.6%,7.6%,4.0%,and 2.2%respectively.The varieties Zunjiao 111,Xiangla 762,Yanjiao 808,and Yuanhang 808 exhibited outstanding comprehensive traits,making them suitable for demonstration and large-scale promotion in Zunyi.关键词
