摘要
Abstract
Objective:To investigate the correlation between Xanthelasma palpebrarum(XP)and lipid levels along with different clinical classifications of dyslipidemia. Methods:The cluster sampling method was employed.A total of 12,152 in-dividuals who underwent health examinations and XP screening at Bazhong Central Hospital between January 2021 and De-cember 2023 were enrolled as study participants.Demographic characteristics and blood lipid indicators of the study partici-pants were obtained.According to the clinical subtypes of dyslipidemia, patients were categorized into four groups:the hy-percholesterolemia group, hypertriglyceridemia group, mixed hyperlipidemia group, and hypoalphalipoproteinemia group. The correlations between XP and lipid profiles as well as distinct dyslipidemia subtypes were analyzed. Results:A total of 195 patients with XP were identified, and the overall prevalence of XP was 1.61%(195/12,152).The prevalence of XP was significantly higher in females than in males[2.09%(122/5,832)vs 1.16%(73/6,320),χ2=16.860,P<0.001].This female predominance persisted in the 40-49-year-old and 50-59-year-old age groups, with statistically significant differences in both comparisons(P<0.05 for each). The prevalence of XP in the age groups of≤39,40-49,50-59,and≥60 years was 1.35%,2.23%,1.58%,and 1.14%,respectively.The highest prevalence occurred in the 40-49-year-old group, showing statistically significant intergroup differ-ences(χ2=13.863,P=0.004).The age-specific prevalence of XP among females demonstrated a peak in the 40-49-year-old group, with statistically significant intergroup differences(χ2=7.967,P=0.047).Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses revealed that total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were positively associated with XP,whereas high-density lipoprotein cholesterol showed an inverse association(all P<0.05).Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses identified hypercholesterolemia(OR=2.424),hypertriglyceridemia(OR=3.116),and hypoalphalipoproteinemia(OR=5.125)as independent risk factors for XP(all P<0.05).Conclusion:The prevalence of XP is significantly higher in females compared to males, with the highest prevalence observed in the 40-49-year-old age group.XP is strongly associated with lipid metabolism disorders, particularly hypercholesterolemia,hypertrig-lyceridemia,and hypoalphalipoproteinemia.关键词
