Abstract
Objective:To explore the impact of central sterile supply department(CSSD)sterilization quality control on healthcare-associated infections(HAIs)prevention in a provincial oncology center.Methods:An observational intervention design with randomized grouping was adopted.A total of 2,000 surgical instruments awaiting cleaning and disinfection were collected from the CSSD of a provincial-level oncology specialist hospital between January 2021 and December 2022 as the re-search subjects.They were randomly allocated to the control group and observation group using a random number table,with 1,000 instruments assigned to each group.The control group followed routine management control procedures,while the ob-servation group implemented an enhanced quality control protocol.Cleaning quality,quality control efficacy scores,and HAIs rates were recorded and compared between the two groups.Results:Following reprocessing,surgical instruments in the observation group demonstrated significantly higher visu-al cleanliness scores compared to the control group(P<0.05).Additionally,the presence rates of blood stains,dirt and rust on the surface of the instruments were markedly lower in the observation group(all P<0.05).The observation group demon-strated a significantly higher overall compliance rate in surgical instrument cleaning and disinfection compared to the control group(P<0.05).This superiority was consistently observed across specific instrument categories,including scissors,for-ceps,hemostatic clamps,and laparoscopic devices(all P<0.05).Following quality control interventions,both groups ex-hibited significant improvements across all evaluated domains-instrument disassembly,cleaning quality,sterilization quality,environmental management,packaging quality,and the total score(all P<0.05).Comparative analysis revealed superior quality control efficacy in the observation group across all assessed domains-instrument disassembly,cleaning quality,disin-fection quality,environmental management,packaging quality and the total score-compared to the control group(all P<0.05).The HAIs rate in the observation group was 0.6%(6/1,000),significantly lower than the 2.0%(20/1,000)ob-served in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Implementing enhanced quality control protocols in CSSD significantly improves compliance rates in surgical instrument cleaning and reduces the incidence of HAIs.These interventions demon-strate robust efficacy in sterilization quality management and are worthy of broader clinical implementation.关键词
