Exploring the relationship between microbial dysbiosis and stress-induced ulcers through the Brain-Spleen-Gut Axis

Abstract
Stress ulcer is a common acute gastrointestinal mucosal injury disease.The modern medical prevention and treatment methods have side effects such as excessive acid suppression,and how to integrate prevention and treatment has become a key challenge to improve the prognosis.Disruption of the gut microbiota is a risk factor for stress ulcers and can exacerbate intestinal mucosal barrier damage through the bidirectional regulatory mechanism of the brain-gut axis.Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)holds that the occurrence of stress ulcers is essentially due to the loss of brain control,impaired spleen transportation,and subsequent intestinal stagnation and microbial disorder;microbial toxins attacking upward,worsening spleen deficiency,and leading to brain orifice dysfunction;and the failure of the defensive and nutritive qi,with blood deviating from its normal course,resulting in vascular damage and bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.Ultimately,this leads to an imbalance in the microbial ecosystem,the accumulation of toxins,and gastrointestinal bleeding.This review is based on the TCM theory of the brain-gut axis,systematically elucidates the pathological correlation between microbial disruption and stress ulcers,and in-depth explores the mechanisms of action of TCM therapeutic methods such as strengthening the spleen and regulating the mind,and consolidating the defensive and nutritive qi in regulating microbial homeostasis.It aims to provide a theoretical basis for the development of integrated Chinese and Western medicine prevention and treatment strategies and to open up new pathways for targeted interventions in the intestinal microbiota.关键词
