Abstract

Hydroxyapatite(HA)coating has been widely used as the surface coating for metal implants due to its good biocompatibility and bioactivity.However,the HA coating has a low bond strength to the titanium alloy matrix and the HA coating tends to flake off after implantation,leading to a decrease in corrosion resistance,and its antibacterial properties need to be improved.To enhance the bond strength,corrosion resistance,and antimicrobial properties of the HA coating,the surface of Ti6Al4V was respectively subjected to acid etching,alkali heat treatment,and alkali heat treatment after acid etching.Subsequently,TiO2-HA(doped with Zn2+)composite coatings were prepared using the sol-gel method.The results indicate that TiO2-HA(doped with Zn2+)composites were successfully synthesized by the sol-gel method.After alkali heat treatment,the cracks in the HA coating of Ti6Al4V were reduced,and its surface wettability and corrosion resistance were improved.The addition of TiO2 and Zn2+increases the integrity of the HA coating,improving the corrosion resistance and wettability.Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus)and Escherichia coli(E.coli)reached 69.3%and 96.9%,respectively,indicating an improvement in antibacterial properties.
