Chemical Imidization Control of Precursor Polyamic Acid and Its Effect on Properties of Polyimide Films

Abstract
Polyimide(PI)films were prepared using 4,4'-hexafluoroisopropylidene diphthalic anhydride(6FDA)and 2,2'-bis(trifluoromethyl)-4,4'-diaminobiphenyl(TFMB)as reactive monomers,through a chemical-thermal mixed imidization method.First,different contents of acetic anhydride and pyridine were added to the precursor polyamic acid(PAA)for chemical imidization to prepare polyamic acid-imide(PA-I)copolymer films with different degrees of imidization,and then colorless and transparent polyimide(PI)films were prepared by thermal imidization.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer,Ursmus viscometer,dynamic mechanical thermal analyzer(DMA),thermogravimetric analyzer(TG)and universal materials testing machine were used to characterize the films.The results showed that with the increase of acetic anhydride and pyridine content,the structure of the rigid imide ring increased,the degree of immidation of the PA-I copolymer film increased,and the order degree of molecular chain arrangement of the PI film prepared by thermoimidization finally increased.The mechanical properties and heat resistance increased with the increase of the rigid imide ring structure,and the optical properties increased first and then decreased with the increase of the rigid imide ring structure.When the chemical imidization degree of the copolymer film was 60%,the comprehensive optical performance of the prepared PI film was the best,with a transmittance of 88.66%at 500 nm and a yellowing index of only 5.9.The film had good mechanical properties,with a tensile strength of 121.3 MPa,a tensile modulus of 3.11 GPa,and an elongation at break of 5.165%.关键词
