Abstract
A composite modifier of high-density polyethylene/styrene-butadiene rubber(HDPE/SBR),referred to as HS,was prepared using a chemical reaction method.A composite material of recycled polyethylene terephthalate(RPET)and HS,namely RPET/HS,was then prepared via thermomechanical blending.The study investigated the effects of the plastic to rubber ratio on the microstructure of HS,the content of epoxy compounds,and the melt flow rate(MFR);the effects of the crosslinking agent ratio(mX/mY)on the crystalline morphology of HS,the content of epoxy compounds,the apparent conversion rate,and the MFR;the effects of different anti-crosslinking agents on the crystalline morphology of HS and the MFR;and the effects of different HS contents on the mechanical properties of the RPET/HS composite material.The results showed that HS exhibited a typical"sausage"structure,with HDPE as the continuous phase and rubber as the dispersed phase,in which the dispersed rubber phase contained a certain amount of HDPE.Both the mX/mY and the plastic to rubber ratio affected the content of epoxy functional groups in the composite modifier HS,which in turn influenced the toughening and compatibilization effects of HS on RPET.As the plastic to rubber ratio decreased,the content of epoxy compounds decreased,the degree of HDPE crystallite refinement increased,the apparent conversion rate of the crosslinking agent increased,and the MFR decreased.The mX/mY did not change the crystalline morphology of HS;as the mX/mY increased,the apparent conversion rate gradually increased,while the MFR first increased and then decreased.After adding anti-crosslinking agents,the HDPE crystallite size in HS became larger,the crystallite morphology was more complete,the apparent conversion rate significantly decreased,and the MFR increased.When the mass fraction of HS added was 20%,compared with pure PET,the impact strength of RPET/HS increased by 362%,the tensile yield strength increased by 3.74%,and the flexural modulus was maintained at 96.9%of the raw material,achieving the best mechanical properties.关键词
