Abstract

The polyglycolic acid/polybutylene carbonate(PGA/PBC)blend was prepared using melt compounding and reactive extrusion techniques.The study investigated the effects of the mass ratio of polyglycolic acid(PGA)and talc on the thermal properties,microstructure,blown film processing properties,and mechanical properties of the PGA/PBC blend.The results showed that the introduction of PGA and talc improved the thermal stability of the blend.The blend exhibited uniform dispersion overall,with PGA particles also having a relatively uniform size distribution,with an average particle size of 1~2 μm.The use of PBC as a modifier for PGA resolved the blown film processing issues of PGA,enabling continuous blown film processing of PGA,which could not be processed alone.The combined use of organic nucleating agents and talc addressed the problem of slow crystallization of PBC,which caused difficulties in film opening.The mechanical properties of the film samples were excellent,fully meeting the requirements for subsequent applications.
