Abstract
Nanoparticles of silica(SiO2)were used as an additive and blended with a polylactic acid(PLA)matrix to prepare PLA/SiO2 core-shell particles.The modified particles were then melt-blended to fabricate 3D printing filaments and standard specimens.The effects of the content of nano-SiO2 on the mechanical properties,microstructure,and crystallinity of PLA were investigated.The results showed that when the mass fraction of nano-SiO2 was 1.5%,the mechanical properties of the composite were optimal,with the tensile strength and elongation at break increasing by 45%and 16%,respectively.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)analysis revealed that the fracture surface of the composite shifted from brittle to ductile,indicating that the modified composite tended to become tougher.Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)analysis showed that the addition of nano-SiO2 shifted the cold crystallization peak of the composite to a lower temperature region,which promoted the nucleation and crystallization of PLA and increased the crystallinity of the composite.关键词
