Abstract

Zirconium phosphate(ZrP)was modified through in-situ polymerization using melamine(MA)and cyanuric acid(CA)to produce a modified zirconium phosphate(MZrP)with enhanced organic-inorganic composite interfacial bonding characteristics.The modified ZrP was blended with polylactic acid(PLA)and then hot-pressed into films.The effects of MZrP modification and its dosage on the mechanical properties,hydrophilicity,and thermal properties of PLA were systematically analyzed.The results showed that when the mass fraction of MZrP was 2%,the tensile strength of PLA reached a maximum value of 212.6 MPa.The addition of MZrP increased the crystallinity of PLA to 26.32%and raised the 50%thermal decomposition temperature by 23.5℃.The hydrophilicity of PLA initially increased and then decreased with the rise in crystallinity.The study demonstrated that the MA/CA modification of ZrP significantly enhanced the mechanical properties and thermal stability of PLA,optimized interfacial bonding,and improved crystallization behavior.The study provides a new strategy for the high-performance development of the biodegradable material PLA.
