Abstract
The surface of nano-silica(SiO2)was modified with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane(APTES),and the functionalized SiO2 nanoparticles were incorporated into the polypropylene(PP)matrix. The PP composites with different mass fractions of functionalized SiO2 nanoparticles(0,1%,3%,5%and 7%)were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis(TG),UV photodegradation experiments, biodegradation tests, and mechanical property tests. The results showed that the addition of functionalized SiO2 significantly enhanced the degradation properties of the PP composites. The sample with 5%SiO2 exhibited a mass loss rate of 5%in the UV photodegradation experiment,an increased CO2 release of 40.0 mg CO2/g sample in the biodegradation test, and an elevated initial degradation temperature from 350℃of pure PP to 365℃in the thermal degradation experiment, with a char yield of 7.2%.However,the sample with 7%SiO2 experienced a slight decline in performance due to particle agglomeration. The study demonstrated that the functionalized SiO2 performed well within the mass fraction range of 3%to 5%,significantly improving the degradation properties of PP.The experiments provide a basis for the development of environmentally friendly PP materials.关键词
