Abstract

This experiment aimed to investigate the effects of α-amylase supplementation on the production performance of lactating dairy cows.Sixteen healthy Holstein lactating cows with similar days in milk,parity,and milk yield were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group,with eight replicates per group,and one cow per replicate.The control group was fed a basal diet,while the experimental group was fed the basal diet+15 g/(head·d)of α-amylase.The pre-test lasted for 15 days and the formal test lasted for 30 days.The results showed that compared with the control group,the average daily dry matter intake of cows in experimental groups was decreased by 1.89%(P>0.05),the average daily milk yield and milk efficiency were increased by 1.47%and 4.00%(P>0.05),respectively,and the income was increased by 2.08 yuan/(head·d)(P<0.05).The somatic cell count in milk of experimental group was significantly lower than that of control group(P<0.05).The plasma glucose(GLU)and β-hydroxybutyric acid(BHBA)concentrations in experimental group were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.05),and the plasma free fatty acid(NEFA)and urea nitrogen(BUN)concentrations in experimental group were significantly lower than those in control group(P<0.05).The apparent digestibility of starch in experimental group was significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.05).The study indicates that supplementing the basal diet with 15 g/(head·d)of α-amylase can effectively enhance the production performance of dairy cows.
