Abstract

Using a frame-type low-to-medium-speed maglev vehicle as the research object,this study analyzed the lateral dynamics of the vehicle in aerodynamic environments under different levels of strong crosswinds.Based on a force analysis of the vehicle body and running gear of the frame-type low-to-medium-speed maglev vehicle,a complete vehicle dynamic model was established.Building on the existing wheel-rail standards,lateral dynamics indicators were developed to assess whether the frame-type low-to-medium-speed maglev vehicle could successfully pass through aerodynamic environments under different levels of strong crosswinds considering operation stability and safety.The simulation results showed that when the vehicle operated in aerodynamic environments with winds of force 7,8,or even 9,the peak acceleration at the lateral stability measurement points did not reach or exceed 8 m/s2,indicating no occurrence of lateral instability in the running gear.Both the lateral and vertical stability indicators remained below 2.5,consistently at an excellent level.The lateral force on the first suspension frame did not exceed 15.4 kN,while the lateral forces on the second and third suspension frames stayed below 16 kN.The fluctuations of suspension gap remained within 4mm,and the guidance gap fluctuations stayed within 10 mm.All lateral dynamics indicators of the vehicle were within the standard limits,indicating that the frame-type low-to-medium-speed maglev vehicle could successfully,stably,and safely pass through different levels of strong crosswinds.
