Abstract
A dedicated wheel box for rail vehicles was designed to support and fix the wheelsets of rail vehicles during their transport by heavy-duty freight cars.In previous transportation cases,it was necessary to weld two rows of steel rails on the floor of heavy-duty freight cars to support the wheelsets,which were then fixed through wheel stoppers.The new scheme adopted concave wooden wedges to support the wheelsets,and steel channels and square tubes as a frame to fix the wedges.Compared with the previous welded rail schemes,the new approach offered high efficiency in loading and reinforcement,as well as great flexibility.Multiple sets of dedicated wheel boxes could be used to accommodate rail vehicles with multiple wheelsets and varying lengths,facilitating their broader application in other rail vehicle transportation projects.关键词
