Energy-Efficient Operational Strategies for Urban Rail Transit Considering Operational Reference Time and Train Type Selection

Abstract
Reducing energy consumption constitutes a critical strategy for achieving green,low-carbon,and sustainable development in rail transit.Building upon traditional operational reference time optimization,this study further introduced the factor of train type selection to investigate a differentiated reference time optimization method for energy-efficient operation based on train type selection.This paper developed a 0-1 mixed-integer programming optimization model with the dual objectives of minimizing traction energy consumption and passenger travel time.This model employed train type and operational reference time selections as decision variables while incorporating passenger flow equilibrium and demand constraints.Mathematical optimization software was implemented for model solving.Case study results indicate that the strategy combining train type selection with operation speed selection outperforms plans with fixed speed or fixed train types in both reducing passenger travel time and traction energy consumption.Compared to traditional operational reference time optimization,it reduced passenger travel time by 1.1%and traction energy consumption by 5.0%.The research demonstrates that selecting appropriate train types and operational reference time under varying passenger flow conditions can effectively balance passenger demand and energy consumption across different operational periods.These findings provide references for enterprises to formulate energy-efficient train working diagrams.关键词
