Dilemmas and Strategic Choices of the Belt and Road Countries in Coping with Climate Crisis:An Analysis Based on International Symbiosis Theory
摘要
Abstract
As global warming intensifies, countries along the Belt and Road are facing severe climate chal-lenges while pursuing economic development. The theory of international symbiosis, which features the in-terdependence and shared interests among countries, advocates for sustainable development through joint ef-forts and collaboration,so as to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results. It is highly consistent with the core values of the Belt and Road Initiative, and provides a unique and appropriate perspective for analyzing how countries along the Belt and Road respond to the climate crisis. On that ground, this paper draws on the theory of international symbiosis to analyze the dilemmas faced by the Belt and Road countries in coping with the climate crisis, including divergent national interests, prominent contradictions between economic development and environmental protection, inadequate coordination mechanisms, large funding gaps and in-sufficient international cooperation. The international symbiosis theory highlights the principle of coopera-tion,mutual benefits and win-win results, and contributes to the solution of relevant problems by optimizing the symbiosis unit relationship, improving the symbiosis frameworks and enhancing the symbiotic environ-ment,which points out the direction for the Belt and Road countries to cope with the climate crisis, and is conducive to promoting the coordinated advancement of ecological sustainability and socioeconomic develop-ment both regionally and globally.关键词
