Inter-Embedded and Multi-Ethnic Interaction,Exchange and Integration under the Presence of the State:A Field Survey Based on the Liangzhong Farm in Ahchi County,Southern Xinjiang

Abstract
Based on fieldwork conducted at Liangzhong farm in Ahchi County,southern Xinjiang,this article pres-ents the construction process of a state-owned seed breeding farm from the perspective of state presence and examines the formation and development of an inter-embedded pattern among different ethnic groups who migrate and gather there.The study finds that as a result of the inter-embedded pattern,the farm's diverse ethnic groups have developed mutually benefi-cial economic relationships,social forms of integration and symbiosis,and cultural exchange and sharing.In addition,the collective memory shaped by the regimental farm system has further sustained the interaction,exchange and integration of various ethnic groups,fostering a strong sense of identity both among individuals and towards the state.The article argues that the presence of the state is the core driving force behind the inter-embedded pattern and ethnic interaction,exchange and integration at state-owned agricultural farms like Lianzhong.This case provides important insights into the practical approaches for building inter-embedded social structures and community environments and the promotion of interaction,exchange and integration among ethnic groups in southern Xinjiang.关键词
