Spatial Order and Cultural Consciousness:A Study of the Collective Grave Arrangement of the Song Lineage in Laizhou,Shandong Province
摘要
Abstract
The third revision of the Song lineage's genealogy,published in the 26th year of the Republic of China,records the spatial distribution of ancestral graves.The spatial arrangement of the graves not only marks the boundaries of different groups of people,but also places emphasizes ancestor worship,fertility consciousness,and lineage transmission.This is also reflected in the real world through house orientations and the the placement of ancestral worship sites.This method of cemetery construction fundamentally addresses the question of a particular society's mode of existence,i.e.,the human-nature relationship.It provides a cognitive basis for spatial division and the act of assigning meaning.Howev-er,the spatial layout of a cemetery or house is the result of active choices made by the Song lineage.This influences the way the people perceive the world,providing guidance and reference for all aspects of life,and ultimately shaping specific social structures.关键词
