Abstract

In the field of underground cavern support design,traditional deterministic methods often fail to fully consider the spatial vari-ability of geotechnical materials,which may lead to overly conservative design results or potential safety hazards.In order to more accu-rately simulate the influence of the actual soil parameter distribution on the deformation during cavern excavation,this paper,based on the random field theory,finite element numerical analysis,and Monte Carlo random simulation method,explores the influence of the coef-ficient of variation of the elastic modulus,horizontal and vertical correlation distances on the deformation during cavern excavation.The results show that the variability of the elastic modulus has a significant impact on the settlement of the cavern,but it does not change the distribution law of the deformation.Specifically,the fluctuation range of the settlement curve expands with the increase of the coefficient of variation,horizontal and vertical correlation distances,among which the influence of the coefficient of variation is particularly remarka-ble.In addition,the settlement value after cavern excavation conforms to the log-normal distribution,and its mean value and standard deviation are positively correlated with the coefficient of variation,while the correlation distance mainly affects the standard deviation.With the increase of the coefficient of variation and correlation distance,the maximum settlement value and the degree of dispersion also increase accordingly,increasing the risk of instability of the surrounding rock.The research results can provide a new perspective and theoretical basis for the optimization of the support design of underground caverns.
