Abstract

Based on the Fortran program platform for the hydraulic transition process of hydropower stations developed by the authors,the charac-teristic curve of the ordinary turbine was replaced with that of the pump-turbine.After slightly correcting the double-valued area at the right end of the characteristic curve into a single-valued function,Lagrangian nonlinear interpolation was carried out to ensure the convergence of the nu-merical calculation.The model calculated the hydraulic transition processes under the turbine load rejection condition and the pump power failure accident condition of the Caoping Pumped Storage Power Station in Zhashui,Shaanxi Province and the pumped storage power station in Tash,Xin-jiang.The fluctuations and process curves of the water pressure in the spiral case of the unit,the water pressure at the inlet of the draft tube,the unit speed,the flow rate,and the maximum and minimum surging water levels in the surge chamber were given,and the results were compared with the adjustment and protection results of Wuhan University and Hohai University.The results show that except that the maximum water hammer pressure is 4.15%to 6.67%smaller,the other results are similar.The simulation calculation results of the model are reliable and rea-sonable,which can provide technical support for the design of the hydraulic transition process of pumped storage power stations.
