Progress,Applications,and Challenges of Ceramic Materials via Binder Jetting Additive Manufacturing

Abstract
Binder Jetting(BJ),a 3D printing technique based on the solidification of binders,is characterized for the high efficiency and precision in rapid fabrication of complex structures.Compared to conventional methods,the BJ-3D printing technology overcome the challenges of difficulty in fabrication of complex ceramic parts,long production cycles,and high processing costs.It offers extensive application potential in the net-shape manufacturing of irregularly shaped ceramic components.In this article,the processing technology and principles of BJ-3D printing are introduced.And the impact of powder and binder characteristics,printing parameters,depowdering,and densification processes on the printability and property of BJ-3D printed ceramic materials and components is analyzed.Furthermore,the advancements in various types of BJ-3D printed ceramics,including oxide ceramics,non-oxide ceramics,bioceramics,and ceramic matrix composites are concluded.The applications of these ceramic materials in the fields of biomedical,aerospace,and nuclear industries are summarized.Finally,the future development directions and challenges of BJ-3D printed ceramic materials are analyzed.This review aims to provide a comprehensive summary and reference for the research and application within the field of BJ-3D printed ceramic materials.关键词
