Abstract

Due to the early construction time,low standards,and long operation time,Nanda Reservoir is affected by both floods and tides,and its safety assessment is classified as a dangerous reservoir,requiring urgent expansion and reconstruction.After comparing and demonstrating the water supply and flood control scale of the reservoir and the engineering geological conditions,the dam site was ultimately selected to be located about 140 meters downstream of the current reservoir dam.The reservoir hub consists of a rubble concrete gravity dam with overflow surface holes and pressure discharge channels,a ground power station on the left bank downstream of the dam,and a sluice gate at the head of the downstream canal.This paper presents the structural layout of the dam body,dam foundation,flood discharge and water release structures,and is equipped with a reservoir deformation and seepage monitoring system,as well as an automated collection system.
