Plant Diversity in Urban Shaded Habitats with Different Canopy Densities
摘要
Abstract
[Objective]To explore the effects of different canopy densities on species diversity of understory cultivated plants and spontaneous plants in shaded habitats,enhance the diversity of understory plants and establish stable plant communities.[Method]With the campus of Huazhong Agricultural University as a study case,the seasonal response characteristics of understory plant diversity under different canopy densities are analyzed using grid system sampling method,combined with seasonal determination of canopy density,light intensity,and plant community investigation.[Result]The light intensity in shaded habitats decreases by about 80%compared to full light environments,and the canopy densities under the forest is generally higher,which is significantly negatively correlated with light intensity.When the summer canopy density is about 0.6,the richness of the herbaceous layer is the highest,and in winter,medium and low canopy densities are beneficial for increasing understory plant diversity.When the canopy density reaches 0.9,there are few cultivated plant species,and only spontaneous plants such as Aster indicus,Cyclosorus acuminatus,and Youngia japonica can grow well.These plants are the key germplasm resources for improving understory plant diversity.When canopy densities of the mixed evergreen deciduous broad-leaved forest are moderate in winter,its herbaceous layer richness is significantly higher than that of the evergreen broad-leaved forest and deciduous broad-leaved forest.Moreover,the herbaceous plant richness under various forest conditions in winter significantly increases compared to summer.[Conclusion]The diversity of understory plants is jointly regulated by canopy density and season,and medium to low canopy densities and mixed forest stands are the key conditions for maintaining herbaceous layer diversity.In the future,we should comprehensively consider the seasonal changes in canopy density and forest management factors,take reasonable measures to optimize the understory lighting environment,and promote the healthy and sustainable development of urban forest ecosystems.关键词
