Abstract
As an"eco-island"indispensable in the urban green space system,university campus plays a vital role in urban biodiversity conservation.Campus biodiversity strategies and action plans are the key tools for many internationally renowned universities to engage in conservation activities.Summarizing and learning the international experiences is of great significance to promote the development of biodiversity conservation in China universities.The paper analyzes the compilation and text characteristics of 65 campus biodiversity strategies and action plans published by 60 universities across the world,and concludes the international experiences which includes the goal-oriented response to national,regional and local conservation strategies,interdisciplinary groups cooperation to promote the formulation and implementation of action plans,the expanded conservation area beyond the boundaries of the campus to get closely linked with the surrounding communities,wide participation of faculty and students in joint implementation of biodiversity strategies and actions.Finally,in view of the current situation,the paper summarizes the inspirations from the international experiences,and suggests that the campus biodiversity strategy and action plan could be formulated from the four aspects of goal setting,team building,scope of action and strategy contents,which help make the university campus a shared home between faculty,students and other living creatures.关键词
