Abstract
Objective To develop an online hearing-test system based on"Mandarin Seven-sound Test",and to evaluate the feasibility of the system and the effectiveness"Mandarin Seven-sound Test"across multiple speakers.Method 31 participants(15 normal-hearing adults,and 16 deaf adults),with an average age of 21.77±2.43 years old,were included in this study.All the participants completed the"Mandarin Seven-sound Test"recorded by multiple speakers using the online hearing-test system in a quiet environment.Results(1)All 31 participants reported that the online hearing-test system operated well,and it could accurately record choices and reaction time,and provide immediate feedback based on results.(2)Hearing-loss participants had the lowest recognition accuracy on/s/and/ɕ/.(3)The reaction time and recognition accuracy measured by the online testing system showed significant differences among different categories of participants:the normal-hearing participants were better than the hearing-loss participants.(4)The reaction times and accuracy of normal-hearing participants were significantly influenced by the age of speakers,but not significantly affected by the gender of speakers.The reaction times and accuracy of hearing-loss participants were not significantly influenced by the age or gender of speakers.Conclusion The"Mandarin Seven-sound Test"can effectively detect the frequency bands of hearing deficiency in deaf individuals.The online testing system for the"Mandarin Seven-sound Test"has sufficient capability and could be further used for daily monitoring of hearing conditions of deaf individuals.关键词
