Research Progress of Repetitive and Stereotyped Vocal Intervention with Response Interruption and Redirection in Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract
Repetitive and stereotyped vocal is one of the most prominent features of autism spectrum disorder(ASD)and an important factor in the development of appropriate language and communication skills.Response interruption and redirection(RIRD)are often used in intervention studies on repetitive and stereotyped vocal.By analyzing the study object and characteristics,intervention environment,definition and classification of repetitive and stereotyped vocal,functional analysis methods and functions of repetitive and stereotyped vocal,intervention methods and results,we reviewed 26 studies on repetitive and stereotyped vocal intervention in ASD with response interruption and redirection being conducted systematically.Among them,the study subjects are mainly children under 8 years old,with fewer adults.Interventions focused on isolated environments;Repetitive and stereotyped vocal had multiple definitions and no systematic classification.The behavioral function analysis was mainly based on experimental method,and the main function was automatic reinforcement.RIRD can effectively inhibit the repetitive and stereotyped vocal of ASD.If changing the content and number of redirection in this method does not affect the behavior improvement,it may be more effective to use it together with other methods.关键词
