Abstract
Objective:To explore the application effect of lumbar spine massage combined with microwave therapy in patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Method:A total of 84 patients with KOA were selected,all of whom were admitted to Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2021 to May 2023,they were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table method.Both groups were treated with conventional medication,with the control group(n=42)receiving microwave therapy and the observation group(n=42)receiving microwave therapy combined with lumbar spine massage.The clinical efficacy,TCM symptom scores,pain levels,and improvement in functional activities between two groups were compared.Result:The total effective rate of the observation group(92.86%)was higher than that of the control group(76.19%)(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of low back cold pain(1.58±0.21)points,joint stiffness(1.85±0.32)points,joint cold pain(1.95±0.24)points,limited movement(1.78±0.25)points and fatigue symptoms(1.61±0.32)points in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group,the score of the visual analogue scale(3.13±0.82)points was lower than that of the control group,the scores of the pain section(3.84±2.13)points,stiffness section(2.18±1.13)points,daily living section(12.61±2.13)points,and total score(18.63±3.23)points in the Western Ontario and McMaster University Osteoarthritis index(WOMAC)of the knee joint were all lower than those of the control group,the differences were all statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of lumbar spine massage combined with microwave therapy in KOA patients has significant effects,effectively reducing the degree of pain,relieving clinical symptoms,and improving knee joint mobility.关键词
