Effects of Blood Flow Restriction Training Combined with Anti-Gravity Treadmill Training on Vastus Medialis Muscle Activity and Bone Tunnel Changes in Patients Following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

Abstract
Objective:To explore the effects of blood flow restriction training(BFR)combined with anti-gravity treadmill training on surface electromyography signals of the vastus medialis muscle,knee joint function,and bone tunnel changes in patients following anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)reconstruction.Method:A total fo 72 inpatients who underwent ACL reconstruction surgery at Shenzhen Pingle Orthopedic Hospital and were transferred to the Rehabilitation Department from January 2023 to April 2024 were selected.They were randomly assigned into the observation group and the control group using a random number table,with 36 patients in each group.The control group received conventional rehabilitation treatment,while the observation group received conventional rehabilitation treatment combined with BFR and anti-gravity treadmill training.The median frequency(MF)and integrated electromyography(IEMG)of the vastus medialis surface electromyographic signal,knee joint function[hospital for special surgery(HSS)score],and the changes in the enlarged diameter of the tibial internal orifice bone tunnel were compared at postoperative day 1,4 weeks,and 8 weeks between the two groups.The excellent rate of the HSS score at 8 weeks postoperatively was also compared between the two groups.Result:At the 4th and 8th weeks after the operation,the MF,IEMG of the surface electromyography signal of the medial femoral muscle and scores of HSS in both groups were higher than those on the first day after the operation,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),the MF,IEMG of the surface electromyography signal of the medial femoral muscle and scores of HSS in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),at the 8th week after the operation,the excellent and good rate of HSS score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:BFR combined with anti-gravity treadmill training can promote the increase of MF and IEMG of the medial femoris muscle in patients after ACL reconstruction,enhance muscle strength and anti-fatigue ability,improve the function of the knee joint,and has no significant change in the short term for expanding the diameter of the tibial medial orifice bone tunnel.关键词
