Research progress on PD-1 expression and its regulation
摘要
Abstract
Programmed cell death receptor 1(PD-1)and programmed cell death receptor ligand 1(PD-L1)are important immune checkpoints.PD-1,as a co-inhibitory receptor,upregulates its expression as a normal result of T cell activation.Generally speaking,PD-1 has a positive effect on maintaining peripheral immune tolerance,preventing immune tissue damage,and terminating immune responses.However,its abnormally high expression inhibits the activity and proliferation of T cells,impacting the anti-tumor effect.Therefore,maintaining the expression level of PD-1 within an appropriate range is of great significance.The expression of PD-1 is tightly regulated by multiple mechanisms.Understanding the regulatory mechanism of PD-1 expression may help develop novel immunotherapies for cancer,autoimmune diseases,and chronic infections.This review elaborates on the expression regulation mechanism of PD-1 from multiple perspectives,laying the foundation for the search for new targeted drugs.关键词
