Effects of Early Treatment with Argatroban on Oxidative Stress,Matrix Metalloproteinases and Vascular Endothelium in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the efficacy of argatroban in the early treatment of acute ischemic stroke(AIS)and its effects on oxidative stress,matrix metalloproteinases(MMP),and vascular endothelium.Methods:160 patients with AIS from February 2022 to February 2024 were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group with 80 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional therapy,while the observation group was treated with argatroban in addition to the conventional therapy.Before and after treatment,the following were observed for the two groups:neurological deficiency and living ability;oxidative stress factors including serum superoxide dismutase(SOD),oxidized low density lipoprotein(ox-LDL),malondialdehyde(MDA);matrix metalloproteinases including serum MMP-2,MMP-9;vascular endothelial factors including serum endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),nitric oxide(NO)as well as the incidence of adverse reactions.Results:After treatment,the NIHSS score,ox-LDL,MAD,MMP-2,MMP-9 levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group.BI score,SOD,eNOS,VEGF,NO levels were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).No statistically significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions was observed between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Following treatment with argatroban in early AIS,enhanced neurological function,and improved living ability,relieved oxidative stress,inhibited production of matrix metalloproteinases as well as improved vascular endothelium were observed.关键词
