Cryopreservation of Ovine Oocytes:Status Quo and Possibilities of Improvement
摘要
Abstract
The limited efficiency of sheep oocytes vitrification hinders its commercial application.Despite the current use of highly effective frozen carriers and cryoprotectants in sheep oocyte vitrification,it is still difficult to avoid osmotic stress,ultrastructure damage,and abnormal epigenetic modification and metabolism alterations.These factors contribute to lower rates of fertilization and blastocyst formation,making it challenging to meet the demands for large-scale development in animal husbandry and human medicine.In light of this,this review discusses the principles and current status of vitrification,the developmental potential of ovine oocytes after vitrification,as well as strategies for mitigating damage caused by oocyte vitrification.This information could serve as a reference for enhancing the efficiency of sheep oocyte cryopreservation and expediting the preservation of sheep germplasm re-sources.关键词
