Abstract

In order to explore the response of multi-span ice-shedding of overhead transmission lines and its suppression scheme,a finite element model of 110 kV Liannan transmission line in Ningxia was established by numerical simulation.The concentrated mass load method was used to simulate the ice-shedding of conductors.The effects of uniform ice-shedding and non-uniform ice-shedding on ice-shedding jump were studied.The relationship between ice-shedding jump height and parameters such as number of spans,line height difference,ice-shedding method,ice-shedding rate,ice thickness was analyzed.Four schemes of interphase spacers to suppress ice-shedding were proposed and compared.The results show that the ice jump height tends to be stable when the spam number of line model exceeds five,and the height difference has little effect on the ice jump.At different ice-shedding rates,the ice jump height of uneven ice-shedding on both sides is the lowest.The thickness of ice coating and the span length have a significant impact on the ice-shedding jump height of the conductor,the conductor tension,the unbalanced tension,and the displacement of the insulator.When the ice thickness exceeds 15 mm,the tension of the conductor exceeds the design upper limit of Liannan transmission line.After installing the spacer,the ice jump height of the ice-shedding span of the conductor decreases,which can reduce by 53.84%at most,and the suppression effect is the best.The research results can provide an important theoretical reference for the design,de-icing method and protection of transmission lines in icing areas.
