Abstract
To analyze the current research status,hotspots,and development trends of Polygonatum odoratum(a type of tra-ditional Chinese medicine)by reviewing related literature and patents,providing a reference for further studies.CiteSpace software was used to visualize the publication volume,keywords,authors,institutions,and countries from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)and Web of Science(WOS)core collection databases concerning Polygonatum odora-tum.Additionally,the IncoPat patent database was utilized to analyze the application trends,global distribution,applicants,and overall technical composition of patents related to Polygonatum odoratum.The annual publication volume of literature on Polygonatum odoratum showed an overall upward trend.The most prolific authors in Chinese and English were Liu Tasi(19 articles),Jin Chenzhong(6 articles),and Hu Yihong(6 articles).The institutions with the highest number of publi-cations were Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology University(37 articles),Hunan University of Chinese Medicine(7 articles),Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine(7 articles),and Hunan Institute of Humanities(7 articles),Science and Technology(7 articles).Keywords in both Chinese and English indicated that the research focus on Polygona-tum odoratum is mainly on chemical constituents,pharmacological effects,and compatibility and formula.Currently,the trend in patent applications for Polygonatum odoratum is declining,with the majority of applications coming from Chi-na.Most applicants are from the business sector,and the technical composition is primarily centered around the compatibil-ity and formula of Polygonatum odoratum.The research hotspots for Polygonatum odoratum are concentrated on the study of chemical constituents,pharmacological effects,and compatibility and formula,which remain the future research direction,especially regarding the main effective components,such as polysaccharides and steroidal saponins,and their antioxidant and anti-tumor effects.For patents,it is recommended to strengthen the communication between enterprises and research in-stitutions,promote industry-university-research collaboration,and focus on breakthroughs in new technologies and methods.关键词
