Abstract
As a traditional alkylating anticancer drug,Busulfan is widely used in clinical treatment,but its reproductive toxicity is significant.In recent years,attention has been paid to the elimination of endogenous primordial germ cells(PGCs)by Busulfan in chicken embryos.PGCs,as germ cell precursor cells,play a key role in the development of the reproductive system and the transmission of genetic information.And the elimination of endogenous PGCs provides an ideal experimental platform for studying the reconstruction of the reproductive system and the construction of gene editing technology and transgenic models.In this paper,we reviewed the mechanism of action,application methods and potential applications of busulfan in the elimination of chicken PGCs in transgenic technology,genetic improvement and species conservation.By analyzing the existing research results and challenges,this review provides references for further applications of busulfan in reproductive biology and agriculture in the future,and discusses the ethical issues and development direction of this technology.关键词
