Piston pair characteristic analysis of discrete cylinder fuel piston pump

Abstract
Piston pumps are widely used in aerospace industry thanks to their advantages under high pressure and high speed.However,the kinematic viscosity of aircraft fuel is only 5%of hydraulic oil.The oil film bearing capacity of piston pair becomes weakened,which causes more severe wear.To reduce the dependence of piston pair on oil film bearing capacity,this paper proposes a novel fuel piston pump with discrete cylinder structure.First,the dynamic mathematical model is built according to its working principle.Then,the kinematic analysis based on a certain product is conducted,and the pressure pulsation in the cylinder chamber is obtained by simulation with AMESim.Next,the mechanical characteristics and contact stress of key parts in the pump are computed.Finally,the simulation results are compared with the traditional swash plate axial piston pump with the same specifications.Results show the mechanical characteristics of piston pair of the piston pump are more stable,the contact stress is lower,and the dependence on the oil film bearing capacity is down,making the pisoton pump more suitable for conditions with the medium of fuel.关键词
