摘要

Abstract

In recent years,numerous microbial components have been utilized as immune enhancers to par-ticipate in the immune response to antigens,thereby improving the immune response of vaccines with poor immunogenicity.As a potent agonist,flagellin can activate Toll-like receptor 5(TLR5)and NOD-like re-ceptor containing a caspase activation and recruitment domain 4(NLRC4)signaling pathways,thus stimu-lating both the innate and adaptive immune responses of the body.Furthermore,flagellin possesses advan-tages such as low toxicity,ease of preparation,and significant potential for modification,making it a prom-ising candidate as an adjuvant and immunotherapeutic agent with considerable clinical application pros-pects.This overview systematically examines the structure and immunostimulatory effects of flagellin,with a particular focus on its research advancements as an immune adjuvant and therapeutic agent.Additionally,we explore the potential application value of flagellin in vaccine research and development,as well as in an-ti-tumor and anti-radiation therapies.Through an in-depth analysis of the characteristics and functions of flagellin,we aim to provide new insights and methodologies for future biomedical research.
