摘要
Abstract
Sedatives play a crucial role in the conservation and breeding practices of pandas, especially in re-sponse to field rescue, transportation,or veterinary treatment. However, choosing a safe and effective seda-tive is vitally important to ensure the welfare of pandas and the success of medical procedures.Dexdomitor,a widely used veterinary sedative, still lacks systematic research in pandas. This study used a randomized double-blind controlled trial method to evaluate the safety and efficacy of different doses of dexdomitor in 20 pandas.By comparing the sedative effects of dexdomitor at doses of 5 μg/kg,10 μg/kg,and 12.5 μg/kg,and monitoring vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory frequency, and blood pressure, the study analyzed the physiological impacts of the drug. The results showed that dexdomitor provided satisfactory sedative effects and maintained relatively stable physiological parameters for pandas at a dose of 10 μg/kg,while slight changes in physiological parameters were observed at a dose of 12.5 μg/kg,indicating the importance of careful dose selection. The study also tracked the health status of pandas from 24 hours to 1 week after sedation, and no significant side effects were found, verifying the safety of dexdomitor for pandas in the short term. The data from this study provide strong evidence for the clinical application of veterinary medi-cine in wild animals, and emphasize the importance of individualized drug dosage, providing practical guid-ance and reference for the welfare protection and medical work of pandas and other wild animals.关键词
