Abstract

Objective To evaluate the hemostatic properties of Yaomo particles with different particle sizes.Methods Various sizes of Yaomo particles were prepared through differential centrifugation.The mice were divided into the blank group,Yunnan Baiyao group,Yaomo total particles group,Yaomo large particle group,Yaomo medium particle group,and Yaomo small particle group.Bleeding time(BT)and coagulation time(CT)of mice were assessed through tail amputation hemostasis and the glass slide method,respectively.Addi-tionally,prothrombin time(PT),activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),thrombin time(TT),and fibrinogen(FIB)concentra-tions were determined using an automated coagulation analyzer.Results The mass percentages of the large,medium,and small particles of Yaomo were 83.34%,11.41%,and 5.25%,respectively.The average particle size of the total particles of Yaomo was 459 nm,and the average particle sizes of the large,medium,and small particles of Yaomo were 712 nm,342 nm,and 164 nm,respectively.Compared with the blank group,4 kinds of Yaomo particles could effectively shorten the BT,CT,PT,and TT of mice(P<0.05),while there is no statisti-cally significant difference in APTT and FIB(P>0.05).Compared with the Yaomo total particles group,the small particles of Yaomo had a statistically significant effect on shortening BT,CT,PT,and TT in mice(P<0.05).Conclusion Yaomo particles could effectively acti-vate exogenous coagulation pathways and exert hemostatic effects,among which the small particles of Yaomo had the best hemostatic properties.
