Improved Distance Protection Scheme for Feeder Lines of PV Field Station
摘要
Abstract
To solve the problem that the adaptability of traditional distance protection will decline due to the large-scale photovoltaic(PV)grid-integration,the traditional distance protection scheme is improved in this paper by utilizing the Fast Sequential Action Principle.Aimed at the protection on the large grid side and based on the negative-and zero-se-quence networks under fault conditions,the sequence current conditions constructed by the negative-sequence current suppression strategy on the side of a PV field station and the corresponding feature(i.e.,the zero-sequence current branch coefficient is not affected by the control strategy for the PV inverter)are used to formulate a short-circuit imped-ance algorithm independent of the size of transition resistor to solve the fault distance.After the protection on the system side determines that a fault occurs in the zone and thus trips the circuit breaker,the PV-side protection can accurately calculate the short-circuit impedance without the influence of the feed flow by solving the short-circuit impedance trian-gle composed of impedance relays.Simulation results based on PSCAD/EMTDC show that the proposed scheme elimi-nates the impact of transition resistor and achieves a high ranging accuracy,which can protect the entire length of the line while providing a fault ranging capability.关键词
