Abstract

To improve the carbonation absorption rate of industrial solid waste lightweight aggregate,a method of ambient temperature carbonation curing based on coal-fired flue gas was proposed.Multi-source in-dustrial solid waste was utilized as raw materials and CO2 from coal-fired flue gas was absorbed for mineral se-questration to improve the CO2 absorption rate of lightweight aggregate.The mixing ratio of raw materials of the industrial waste and the conditions for carbonation curing were optimized.The effects of acidic impurity gas in the flue gas on carbonation curing were investigated.The reaction mechanism of the multi-component gas during the carbonation curing process was clarified through microstructural characterization and kinetic analysis.The results indicate that the carbonation extent is affected by the acidic gas in the flue gas.Some CaO reacts with SO2 to form the sulfation product CaSO4,resulting in the decrease of the CO2 absorption rate of the lightweight aggregate to 9.89%.NO2 has a relatively minor effect on the carbonation,with the CO2 ab-sorption rate of 11.06%.The kinetic analysis of the carbonation reaction shows that the primary factor influ-encing the carbonation reaction rate is the CO2 diffusion rate.The increase of the gas diffusion depth is benefi-cial for the enhancement of carbonate formation.
