Current status of financial toxicity in patients with cerebral stroke and its influencing factors

Abstract
Objective To explore the current status of financial toxicity in patients with cerebral stroke and its influencing factors.Methods A total of 244 patients with cerebral stroke were selected as the research subjects,and they were investigated with the general information questionnaire,Comprehensive Scores for Financial Toxicity Based on the Patient-Reported Outcome Measure(COST-PROM)scale,and rehabilitation treatment compliance evaluation scale.The total score of COST-PROM scale was compared between patients with different characteristics,and the correlation between the total score of rehabilitation treatment compliance evaluation scale of patients and the total score of COST-PROM scale was analyzed.The multiple linear regression model was adopted to analyze the influencing factors for financial toxicity in patients with cerebral stroke.Results A total of 244 investigation questionnaires were distributed and 230 valid questionnaires were collected,with an effective recovery rate of 94.26%.The total score of COST-PROM scale for patients with cerebral stroke was 24.16±5.49,and the incidence rate of financial toxicity was 78.70%.There were statistically significant differences in the total score of COST-PROM scale between cerebral stroke patients with different ages,residences,per capita monthly income of the family,number of stroke episodes,disease severity,rehabilitation treatment time and rehabilitation treatment compliance(P<0.05).The total score of COST-PROM scale positively correlated with the total score of rehabilitation treatment compliance evaluation scale(P<0.05).The results of multiple linear regression analysis revealed that age,residence,per capita monthly income of the family,number of stroke episodes,disease severity,rehabilitation treatment time and rehabilitation treatment compliance were the influencing factors for financial toxicity in patients with cerebral stroke(P<0.05).Conclusion Financial toxicity is common in patients with cerebral stroke.Age,residence,per capita monthly income of the family,number of stroke episodes,disease severity,rehabilitation treatment time and rehabilitation treatment compliance are the influencing factors for financial toxicity in patients with cerebral stroke.关键词
